Strange School

2020 (Italy)

I will admit to being skeptical about this location, as none of us knew what was there but it was simply known as 'Strange School'. Being the last location on an amazing trip, we didn't want to go out with a whimper. But as luck would have it, the school was full of surprises and interesting rooms & architecture!

My final shot of the tour was a beautiful Art Deco style door lighting up an otherwise dark corridor. There were unnervingly small beds in one room too, so I believed this must have been a boarding school for young children. I discovered that the many uses prior to that included being a summer residence for clerics, a military hospital & even a silk spinning mill. A fascinating end to our trip.
