Manicomio di R (Part 2)

This asylum is well known for its grand corridors and giant double height windows - both of which are a real challenge to shoot! For one of the corner shots, I had to stand on a wooden palette I found to get extra height. Another challenge are the darker areas, most notably the chapel in the centre which is close to pitch black & the dentists chair, which is particularly unnerving.

The reward of these challenges is a location that thrives on being photographed. It is a building with some dark history but plenty of beauty shining through. One of my all time favourite explores.
