Teupitz Landesirrenanstalt (Part 1)

2021 (Germany)

This state insane asylum was opened in 1908 running until the early 21st Century. There are many buildings to visit in this facility and luckily I visited with a friend who had a good knowledge of the area - otherwise I think it is easy to miss a lot here. The dominating feature is the huge tower that has such striking architecture and was the first thing I could see from the road when I arrived. It is a very intimidating image & sets the tone for a location that had a mixed and often dark history.

I've split the location into two parts as it was so vast, so please do take a look at Part 2: https://www.robinhudsonphotography.com/berlin-brandenberg-part-2-1/teupitz-landesirrenanstalt-(part-2)
