Beelitz Heilstätten (Chirurgie)

Finally seeing the Chirurgie (Surgery) at Beelitz Heilstatten was an absolute treat. Probably the most famous and photographed of all the buildings in the facility. I would have loved to see it a few years earlier but I was very happy to finally get the chance to shoot this beautiful place.

Once we left, there was one lovely surprise in store. I wanted to take photos from behind the Chirurgie and by that time it was dusk - a beautiful mist formed in the heather surrounding the building. With the dramatic sky created a stunning light, it allowed me to take one of my favourite ever photos (the final one in this set).
